Associate MSL Training Course: This dynamic training brings together the science of reading and spelling equipping professionals with the knowledge and skills to take scientific research to educational practice.
Entry: Bachelor Degree or Equivalent. Committed parents, motivated teacher aides and others may apply.

Multisensory Structured Language [MSL] Associate Course Description: The Associate MSL course is designed for busy suitable professionals who require upskilling and specialisation in the MSL approach. The Associate course provides instruction based on the Orton Gillingham approach, a phonetic, linguistics based, structured and multisensory approach for teaching reading and spelling. It is a systematic and cumulative approach involving intensive reinforcement. This course includes a self guided practicum including diagnostics testing and data collection to plan and monitor student progress. The Associate course also includes relevant required readings to ensure that trainees are well informed in the areas of literacy, language, dyslexia and current National and International reports and information relating to dyslexia and reading.
Course Structuring: 3 components are offered for those that wish to obtain and met the high training standards and requirements for AMADA ADA recognition:
1. Mode: face to face 5 days MSL intensive: A valuable 5 days of bridging theory to practice and networking with other passionate attendees.
2. MSL Practicum: Guided lesson plans to ensure that you are supported on the 'what to teach' and 'how to teach it". This component also includes student MSL diagnostics to help you plan for instruction, monitor and document student progress. Professional attendess will choose a suitable student as a case study to be approved as their practicum student (MSL assists all children strugging so students DO NOT have to have a diagnosis to start MSL). Parents may nominate their own child for their practicum component.
3. Required readings: Selected relevant readings in the field will be sent after the 5 day intensive training. These include national and international reports/inquiries, articles and fact sheets on various topics of interest and relevancy. Summaries and personal response reflections are required. No essays or assignments are required.
Expected completion: Minimum 12 months from last day of the 5 day intensive. Extensions may be granted beyond the 12 months so long as communication with IMSLE has been frequent.
Upon Completion of components: All work is marked by IMSLE and a transcript of results and a personalised IMSLE certificate for the 5 day intensive will be sent. Successful candidates can then choose to apply to the ADA by submitting an AMADA application to the ADA.

Trainees will be provided with a pathway plan upon completion of the 5 day intensive plus guidance and instructions to assist them in successfully completing the MSL course for ADA accreditation. IMSLE are here to assist all approved applicants to achieve the best results they can and enjoy the learning process along the way!

The Associate MSL is a pre requisite for entry into Morphology MSL. The morphology course will extend knowledge and application of the fascinating realm of morphology using MSL principles of instruction.
Diagnostic Assessment and Reporting MSL
Successful completion of the Associate MSL course is a pre requisite for entry into MSL Diagnostician course. This course is suitable to approved AMADA's who want to expand their knowledge and skills of diagnostic assessment,interpreting and collating formative data, profiling for identification, instruction and report writing.
